东风吹水日衔山，
春来长是闲。
落花狼藉酒阑珊，
笙歌醉梦间。

晚妆残，

留连光景惜朱颜，

《阮郎归》的上阕英译文可以还原为中文如后：“在东风吹皱了的湖水之外，远山把落日吞下去了；春天已经来到，还是一事无成。落花满地乱堆，酒已喝完，郑王妃只好沉醉在笙歌梦幻之中。”下阕则是：“她默默无言，佩环也没有响声，晚妆已经卸了，叫她为谁梳妆打扮呢？时光流逝，红颜易老，她只好独自倚着栏杆去看夕阳落山了。”
