太翁庄上走如梭。
门前几个官人坐，
有虎皮驮驮[2]。
呼王留唤伴哥[3]，
无一个，空叫得喉咙破。
人踏了瓜果，马践了田禾。

[1]醉颜酡：喝醉了脸红彤彤的样子。酡：红色。
[2]虎皮驮驮：指游牧民族使用的虎皮包。驮驮：沉重的样子。
[3]王留、伴哥：元人对农村青年的泛称。

In village elder’s house tax-collectors come and go.
Some officials sit in the hall,
With heavy bags of tiger skin piled up below.
They call the roll, but none answers at all.
They shout and cry
Until their throats go dry.
Then soldiers would damage the crop and horses tread
The field so that nothing could grow.
