敕勒川[1]，阴山[2]下。

天似穹庐[3]，

笼盖四野。

天苍苍，

野茫茫，

风吹草低见牛羊。

注释：

[1] 敕勒川：泛指敕勒族游牧的草原，现在山西、内蒙一带。

[2] 阴山：在今内蒙古自治区北部。

[3] 穹庐：毡帐，即蒙古包。
