（一）秋思
百岁光阴一梦蝶[2]，
重回首往事堪嗟[3]。
今日春来，
明朝花谢。
急罚盏夜阑[4]灯灭。
注释：
[1]夜行船：曲牌名。
[2]梦蝶：借用“庄周梦蝶”的典故，比喻浮生如梦。
[3]堪嗟：可叹。
[4]夜阑：夜深。

（I）Tune:Autumn Thoughts
Like a dream pass a hundred years of light and shade;
Turning my head, I sigh for days gone by.
Spring comes today, tomorrow flowers fade.
Drink the cup dry
Before lamplight goes out at dead of night!
（二）乔木查
想秦宫汉阙[1]，
都做了衰草牛羊野。
不恁么渔樵[2]没话说。
纵荒坟横断碑，
不辨龙蛇[3]。
注释：
[1]秦宫汉阙：秦汉时的宫殿。
[2]渔樵：打鱼的人和砍柴的人，指代隐者。
[3]龙蛇：龙年、蛇年，指年份。意谓断碑上所刻的那些字都辨认不清了，同时也隐喻圣贤豪杰与凡夫俗子同归荒野，功过莫辨了。
（II）Tune: The Arbor
I think of ancient palaces, alas!
They become pastures covered with withered grass.
Of the fishermen’s gossip they are aliments,
Crisscrossed with ruined tombs and broken monuments,
On which dragons and snakes are blent.
（三）庆宣和
投至狐踪与兔穴[1]，
多少豪杰！
鼎足[2]虽坚半腰里折。
魏耶？
晋耶？
注释：
[1]投至：乃至。狐踪与兔穴：狐兔出没的地方，指荒野。
[2]鼎足：指魏、蜀、吴三国的并立。
（III）Tune: Celebration of the Reign
I find fox’s traces and hare’s holes.
Where are the ancient heroes’ souls?
Like a tripod’s broken legs the three states are not strong.
To which succeeding dynasty did the empire belong?
（四）落梅风
天教你富，
莫太奢！
没多时好天良夜。
富家儿更做道[1]你心似铁，
争辜负了锦堂风月[2]！
注释：
[1]更做道：即使，纵然。
[2]争：相当于怎。锦堂风月：指高雅脱俗、轻富贵薄虚誉的生活。
（IV）Tune: Falling Mume Blossoms
No matter how rich you may be,
Don’t live in luxury!
O happy days and nights cannot forever last.
No matter how hard a miser’s heart may be,
The breezy moonlit days will soon be past!
（五）风入松
眼前红日又西斜，
疾似下坡车。
不争镜里添白雪[1]，
上床与鞋履相别。
休笑巢鸠计拙[2]，
葫芦提[3]一向装呆。
注释：
[1]白雪：白发。
[2]巢鸠计拙：相传斑鸠不会筑巢。
[3]葫芦提：糊涂。
（V）Tune: The Wind through Pines
The setting sun goes west before the eye
As quickly as the carriage rolling down the height.
Don’t let your hair in the mirror turn snow-white!
Go to bed and say to your shoes goodbye!
Don’t laugh at the cuckoo occupying the magpie’s nest!
Play the fool like a gourd and take your rest!
（六）拨不断
名利竭，
是非绝。
红尘[1]不向门前惹。
绿树偏宜屋角遮，
青山争补墙头缺。
更那堪竹篱茅舍！
注释：
[1]红尘：尘土，世俗社会。
（VI）Tune: Unbroken String
In the vanity fair
There is no right nor wrong.
No dust is raised before my door all the day long,
The eaves of my roof is shaded by trees green,
My broken wall seems crowned with hills like a screen.
What’s more, I’ve my bamboo-fenced cot in evening air!
（七）离亭宴煞
蛩[1]吟罢一觉才宁贴，
鸡鸣时万事无休歇，
争名利何时是彻!
看密匝匝蚁排兵，
乱纷纷蜂酿蜜，
急攘攘蝇争血。
裴公绿野堂[2]，
陶令[3]白莲社。
爱秋来时那些：
和露摘黄花[4]，
带霜分紫蟹，
煮酒烧红叶。
想人生有限杯，
浑几个重阳节。
嘱咐你个顽童记者[5]：
便北海探吾来，
道东篱醉了也[6]。
注释：
[1]蛩：蟋蟀。
[2]裴公绿野堂：《旧唐书·裴度传》载，唐宪宗时裴度累官至中书侍郎，后来退居洛阳，筑绿野堂，与白居易等饮酒吟咏其中。
[3]陶令：曾为彭泽县令的陶渊明。
[4]黄花：菊花。
[5]者：“着”，语助词。
[6]便北海探吾来，道东篱醉了也：不管谁来，都说我醉了不能相见。北海，指代后汉时曾为北海相的孔融，据《后汉书·孔融传》载，他曾自称只要座上客常满，樽中酒不空，自己便无忧了。
（VII）Tune: Feast at Farewell Pavilion
When crickets sing,
I can sleep well.
At cockcrow everything
Begins to stir up.
When will end the strife
For fame and gain?
See ants surround their prey in flood,
Bees gather honey pellmell,
And flies hasten to suck blood.
I would retire to the green plain
Or at the foot of White Lotus Hill.
I love, when autumn is chill,
To pluck golden flowers inpearled with dew,
To eat frost-proof crabs with you,
And to burn red leaves to heat wine.
How many cups can we drink in our life?
How many can we enjoy mountain-climbing days fine?
I ask my lad to tell any guest
That I am taking my rest
At my eastern hedge with my wine cup!
