Tune: Universal Joy
Apart in the World

O peony flowers!
O moonlit bowers!
Bright flowers can be bought when they are desired;
Bright moon cannot be brought down when admired.
You may see full-blown flowers from the balustrade,
And drink to the full moon when you gather round.
The moon may wax and wane, flowers may bloom or fade.
What gnaws our heart is to be torn apart.
Faded flowers may blow again when spring comes around;
The waning moon may wax full on Mid-autumn Day.
O when will you come back now you are far away?
