[1]西席：古人以坐西面东为客位，教书先生常被称为西席或西宾。
[2]行：面前，那里。
[3]休言过：不要说别人的过错。
[4]絮聒：啰唆。
[5]馆东：书馆主人。

To a Funny Tutor

You teach pupils to read and write,
And they learn to recite,
To obey their fathers and mothers,
To be good towards their brothers,
To serve their prince to the end,
And not to find fault with their friend.
Well bred, you make a pose all the day long,
Lest people should say you are wrong.
You tell the pupils: “Your work should be well done.”
But they say: “The work is a tedious one.”
And the father says: “All is up to my son.”
