轻鸿[1]戏江潭[2]，孤雁[3]集[4]洲沚[5]。
邂逅[6]两相亲，缘念[7]共无已[8]。
风雨好东西，一隔顿[9]万里。
追忆栖宿时[10]，声容[11]满心耳。
落日川渚寒，愁云绕天起。
短翮[12]不能翔，徘徊烟雾里。

Bao zhao
In streams and pools the fair swan plays;
On isles and sands the lone goose stays.
Meeting by chance, we know our heart;
We miss each other when apart.
From east to west there’re thousand li;
Wind and rain sever you and me.
The bygone time often appears;
Your voices haunt my mind and ears.
The sunset chills isles far and nigh;
The gloomy clouds darken the sky.
My short wings can’t fly high and low;
In mist I wander to and fro.
