陶潜
白发被[1]两鬓[2]，肌肤不复实[3]。
虽有五男儿[4]，总不好[5]纸笔[6]。
阿舒已二八[7]，懒惰故无匹[8]。
阿宣行[9]志学，而不爱文术[10]。
雍端年十三，不识六与七。
通子垂九龄[11]，但觅[12]梨与栗。
天运[13]苟[14]如此，且进杯中物[15]。

[1] 被：同“披”，覆盖，下垂。
[2] 鬓：面颊两旁近耳的头发。
[3] 实：结实。
[4] 五男儿：陶渊明有五个儿子，大名分别叫俨、俟、份、佚、佟，小名分别叫舒、宣、雍、端、通。这首诗中皆称小名。
[5] 好：爱好。
[6] 纸笔：这里代指学习。
[7] 二八：十六岁。
[8] 无匹：无人能比。
[9] 行：行将，将近。
[10] 文术：指读书、作文之类的事情。
[11] 垂九龄：将近九岁。
[12] 觅：寻觅，寻找。
[13] 天运：天命，命运。
[14] 苟：如果。
[15] 杯中物：指酒。
Blaming Sons
Tao Qian
My temples covered with white hair,
My skin wrinkled, my muscles slack.
Though I have five sons, none would care
To read or write in white or black.
My eldest son is now twice eight,
But lazy as him none appears.
My second son won’t dedicate
Himself to arts at fifteen years.
My third and fourth sons at thirteen
Know not how much makes six plus seven.
My youngest son has nine years green;
‘Mid pears and nuts he is in heaven.
If such be the decree divine,
What can I do but drink my wine?
