帕布莉卡烈祖
嗟嗟烈祖，
有秩斯祜[1]。
申[2]锡无疆，
及尔斯所。
既载清酤，
赉[3]我思成。
亦有和羹[4]，
既戒既平。
鬷[5]假无言，
时靡有争。
绥我眉寿，
黄耇[6]无疆。
约错衡，
八鸾鸧鸧[7]。
以假以享，
我受命溥将[8]。
自天降康，
丰年穰穰[9]。
来假来飨，
降福无疆。
顾予蒸尝，
汤孙之将。
烈烈先祖多荣光，
不断降下大福祥。
无穷无尽多赐赏，
恩泽遍布我国疆。
先祖神前设清酒，
赐我国土享安康。
还有调和美味汤，
五味齐全又适当。
心中默默向神祷，
次序井然无争嚷。
神灵赐我百年寿，
满头黄发寿无疆。
车毂裹皮辕雕花，
四马八铃响叮当。
祭告神灵献祭品，
我受天命封土广。
安定幸福从天降，
五谷丰登多米粮。
先祖降临受祭飨，
赐我福分无限量。
冬祭秋祭神赏光，
汤孙祭祀情意长。

[3] 赉：赏赐。
[4] 和羹：调制好的羹汤。
[5] 鬷（zōng）：同“奏”。
[6] 眉寿、黄耇（gǒu）：都是长寿的意思。
[7] 鸧鸧（qiāng qiāng）：铃声。
[8] 溥将：广大的样子。
[9] 穰穰：禾黍众多的样子。
Hymn to Ancestor[1]
Ah! Ah! Ancestor dear,
Shower down blessings here.
Let your blessings descend
On your sons Without end.
Our wine is clear and sweet.
Make our happiness complete.
Our soup is tempered well,
Good in flavor and smell.
We pray but silently:
Bless us with longevity,
White hair and wrinkled brow.
We have no contention now.
In cars with wheels leather-bound,
At eight bells’ tinkling sound,
The princes come to pray
We might be blessed for aye.
O give us far and near
Rich harvest year by year!
O ancestor, alight!
May you accept the rite
Your filial grandsons pay
And bless us as we pray!
[1] This was another hymn appropriate to sacrifice to King Tang of Shang, Shang dwelling on the spirits, the soup and the gravity of the service and assisting princes.
