The bushy grass drowned by
Cold water flowing down,

For our capital town.
The southernwood drowned by

The bushy plants drowned by
Cold water flowing down,
When I awake, I sigh
For our old royal town,
Where millet grew in spring,
Enriched by happy rain;
The state ruled by the wise king,
The toilers had their grain.
[1]The bushy grass and plants drowned in cold water might allude to the small State of Cao drowned in misery which made the writer think of the capital of Zhou and of its prosperi ty.
