帕布莉卡《小雅·沔水》是中国古代第一部诗歌总集《诗经》中的一首诗。此诗三章，前二章每章八句，后一章六句。第一章写诗人对当权者不制止祸乱深为叹息，指出祸乱发生，有父母的人会更加忧伤；第二章写诗人看到那些不法之徒为非作歹，便坐立不安，忧伤不止；第三章写无人止谗息乱，诗人心中愤慨不平，劝告友人应自警自持，防止为谗言所伤。全诗以沔水飞隼起兴，反复表达诗人忧乱忧谗的心情，比兴表现手法的连用，大大增强了诗的艺术表现力。

沔彼流水，
朝宗于海[2]。
鴥[3]彼飞隼，
载飞载止。
嗟我兄弟，
邦人诸友。
莫肯念乱，
谁无父母！
沔彼流水，
其流汤汤。
鴥彼飞隼，

The waters flow
Towards the ocean.
Hawks fly in slow
Or rapid motion.
My friends and brothers,
Alas! Don’t care
For their fathers and mothers
Nor state afair.

In current strong.
Hawks fly now low
Now high and long.
None play their part
But hatch their plot.
What breaks my heart
Can’t be forgot.

At rising tide.

[1] This ode bewailed the disorder of the times and the general indifference to it, and traced it to the slanderers encouraged by men in power. The first two lines of the last stanza, miss ing in the original, are supplanted by the translator.
