凯风自南，
吹彼棘心[2]。
棘心夭夭，
母氏劬[3]劳。
凯风自南，
吹彼棘薪。
母氏圣善，
我无令人[4]。
爰有寒泉。
在浚之下。
有子七人，
母氏劳苦。
睍睆[5]黄鸟，
载好其音。
有子七人，
莫慰母心。
和风吹来自南方，
吹在酸枣树苗上。
酸枣树苗还正小，
母亲辛苦又勤劳。
和风吹来自南方，
吹在酸枣枝条上。
母亲明理又善良，
我们兄弟不像样。
寒泉清冷把暑消，
源在浚城之下绕。
儿子七个不算少，
母亲依旧独勤劳。
美丽黄鸟，
婉转和鸣。
空有七子，
不能安慰慈母心。

From the south blows the breeze
Amid the jujube trees.
The trees grow on the soil;
We live on mother’s toil.
From the south blows the breeze
On branches of the trees.
Our mother’s good to sons;
We are not worthy ones.
The fountain’s water runs
To feed the stream and soil.
Our mother’s seven sons
Are fed by her hard toil.
The yellow birds can sing
To comfort us with art.
We seven sons can’t bring
Comfort to mother’s heart
