芄兰之支，
童子佩觽[1]。
虽则佩觽，
能不我知。
容[2]兮遂兮，
垂带悸[3]兮。
芄兰之叶，
童子佩[4]。
虽则佩，
能不我甲。
容兮遂兮，
垂带悸兮。
芄兰的枝，
童子佩戴象牙锥。
虽然佩戴象牙锥，
才能低下我知道。
摇摇摆摆装得像，
带子似的下垂样。
芄兰的叶，
童子佩戴象牙玦。
虽然佩戴象牙玦，
才能不把我超越。
摇摇摆摆装得像，
带子似的下垂样。

[3] 悸：带子下垂的样子。

The creeper’s pods hang like
The young man’s girdle spike.
An adult’s spike he wears;
For us he no longer cares.
He puts on airs and swings
To and fro tassel-strings.
The creeper’s leaves also swing;
The youth wears archer’s ring.
An archer’s ring he wears;
For us he no longer cares.
