清人在彭，
驷介[1]旁旁[2]。
二矛重英，
河上乎翱翔。
清人在消，
驷介麃麃[3]。
二矛重乔[4]，
河上乎逍遥。
清人在轴，
驷介陶陶。
左旋右抽，
中军[5]作好。
清地的兵驻彭地，
四马披甲真强壮。
两矛饰着重缨络，
河边闲游又翱翔。
清地的兵驻消地，
四马披甲雄骁骁。
两矛披着野鸡毛，
河边闲游多逍遥。
清地的兵驻轴地，
四马披甲如风跑。
车子左转右抽刀，
将军武姿真是好。

[2] 旁旁：强盛的样子。
[3] 麃麃（biāo biāo）：威武的样子。
[4] 乔：野鸡毛。
[5] 中军：军中的统帅。
Qing Warriors[1]
Qing warriors stationed out,
Four mailed steeds run about.
Two spears adorned with feathers red,
Along the stream they roam ahead.
Qing warriors stationed on the shore
Look martial in their cab and four.
Two spears with pheasant’s feathers red,
Along the stream they stroll ahead.
Qing warriors stationed on the stream
Look proud in their cab and mailed team.
Driver at left, spearsman at right,
The general shows his great delight.
[1]This was a satire against Duke Wen who ruled in the State of Zheng(662—627 B. C. ) but manoeuvred uselessly an army of Qing on the frontier.
