无田甫田，
维莠[2]骄骄。
无思远人，

不要耕种主家大田，
只有狗尾草长得高。

两束小辫像羊角。

Or weed will spread around.

Or your grief won’t be done.
My son was young and fair
With his two tufts of hair.
Not seen for a short time,
He’s grown up to his prime.
[1]It was said that the song was written for Wen Jiang of Qi (See the preceding poem) miss ing her son who became Duke Zhuang of Lu at the age of thirteen.
