纠纠[1]葛屦，
可[2]以履霜？
掺掺[3]女手，
可以缝裳？
要[4]之襋[5]之，
好人服之。
好人提提[6]，
宛然左辟，
佩其象揥[7]。
维是褊心，
是以为刺。
缠缠绕绕编草鞋，
如何用它踩秋霜？
纤纤细细姑娘手，
如何能够缝衣裳？
缝好衣纽缝衣领，
贵人试穿新衣裳。
贵人走路好傲慢，
都闪左边把路让，
象牙簪子头上戴。
真是偏心不公平，
因此讽刺把歌唱。

A Well-Drest Lady and Her Maid[1]
In summer shoes with silken lace,
A maid walks on frost at quick pace.
By slender fingers of the maid
Her mistress’ beautiful attire is made.
The waistband and the collar fair
Are ready now for her mistress to wear.
The lady moves with pride;
She turns her head aside
With ivory pins in her hair.
Against her narrow mind
I’ll use satire unkind.
