登上那座青山啊，
眺望家中父亲啊。
父亲好像正在说：“唉，
我的儿子在服役。
日日夜夜不停歇。
还是千万小心啊，
可以回来不停留！”
登上那座秃山啊，
眺望家中母亲啊。
母亲好像正在说：“唉！
我的小儿子在服役，
日日夜夜无安眠。
还是千万小心啊，
可以回来不放弃。”
登上那座山岗啊，
眺望家中兄长啊。
兄长好像正在说：“唉！
我的弟弟在服役，
与人军营里。
还是要小心啊，
可以回来不世弃！”

I climb the hill covered with grass
And look towards where my parents stay.

My son’s on service far away;
He cannot rest night and day.

To come back and not remain there!”

My youngest son’s on service far away;

To come back and not be captive there!”
I climb the hilltop green with grass
And look towards where my brothers stay.
My eldest brother would say,“Alas!
My youngest brother is on service far away;
He stays with comrades night and day.
O may he take good care
To come back and not be killed there!”
