驷驖孔阜[2],
六辔在手。
公子媚子[3],
从公于狩。
奉[4]时辰牡[5],
辰牡孔硕。
公曰左之,
舍拔[6]则获。
游于北园,
四马既闲。
輶[7]车鸾镳[8],
载猃[9]歇骄[10]。
四匹肥马毛色黑,
六根韁绳握在手。
公爷宠爱的那人,
跟从公爷去打猎。
供奉应时的野兽,
肥大的野兽到处有。
公爷命令车向左,
一箭射中那猎物。
游猎在北园,
四马驾车很熟练。
轻车鸾铃马衔镳,
众多猎狗车马间。

Winter Hunting[1]
Holding in hand six reins
Of four iron-black steeds,
Our lord hunts on the plains
With good hunters he leads.
The male and female preys
Have grown to sizes fit.
“Shoot at the left!”he says;
Their arrows go and hit.
He comes to northern park
With his four steeds at leisure;
Long and short-mouthed hounds bark
In the carriage of pleasure.
