庶[1]见素冠兮，
棘[2]人栾栾[3]兮。
劳心[4]兮。
庶见素衣兮，
我心伤悲兮。
聊与子同归兮。
庶见素[5]兮，
我心蕴结兮。
聊与子如一兮。
有幸再看见戴白帽的人啊，
见他又黑又瘦弱嶙峋啊。
心中悲痛啊。
有幸再看见穿白衣的人啊，
我的心中悲伤痛啊。
愿与你同归去啊。
有幸再看见穿白裙的人啊，
我的心中长郁闷啊。
誓愿与你同患难啊。

[2] 棘：即“瘠”，瘦弱。
[3] 栾栾：瘦瘠的样子。
[4] ：忧伤的样子。
[5] （bì）：蔽膝，裙。
The Mourning Wife[1]
The deceased’s white cap seen,
His worn-out face so lean,
I feel a sorrow keen.
Seeing my lord’s white dress,
I become comfortless;
I would share his distress.
I see his white cover-knee,
Sorrow is knotted on me,
One with him I would be!
